    UCAT TEST DETAILS

ISAT is a 3 hours computer based multiple choice test designed to assess a candidate’s intellectual skills & abilities that are the foundation of academic success at tertiary level. The test is independently developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). ACER has an excellent international reputation & track record in the development, management & research of selection tests for undergraduate medical and health related programs. ISAT is administered as a computer-based test through Prometric Inc. centers around the world.

ISAT is a computer-based test. A short tutorial on how to navigate the electronic test format is offered before undertaking the test. ISAT is presented in units: stimulus material is followed by multiple-choice questions.
    It assesses:-

    1. Critical Reasoning – comprehending, analysing, evaluating & extending ideas, these questions use materials from the humanities & social sciences.
    2. Quantitative Reasoning – drawing conclusions, making decisions & solving problems, these questions use material from mathematics & the sciences.

ISAT does not test subject specific knowledge.

    WHICH UNIVERSITIES TAKE ISAT?

On the date of the test you should arrive at the test center at least 15 minutes prior to the
starting time. You will need to bring: A copy of your Appointment Summary; Two forms of current identification (ID), including one (1) form of current photographic ID which must include your name, date of birth, signature & embedded photograph & Printed (paper) bilingual dictionary, if required. Candidates without two current forms of identification will not be admitted to the test.

Your nominated universities are able to access your results after the test. You can view & print your own results online – after results are released you will receive an email from ACER with instructions on how to do this.

A number of universities require international students to take ISAT as part of the application process. Please check the ISAT website regularly for updates.
